Position Title: Cost Analyst
Location: Brownville
Description: 
Our Cost Analyst supports Mativ’s PKGSP - Packaging & Specialty Papers team, at our Brownville, NY Mill and help support Lowville NY Mill a Mativ company (“Mativ”). This individual will collaborate with our finance, operations, and business teams at our Brownville, NY and Lowville NY locations to achieve top line growth and bottom-line margin improvement.  A successful candidate will support ongoing business activities by providing costing support, analyzing financial data, and subsequently providing guidance in order to reduce costs and maximize profitability. This is an onsite position. 
responsibilities: 
  • Provide financial, business and process analytics to enable operations and business teams to achieve or exceed business objectives.
  • Maintain standard costs through accurate BOM’s and Routings.
  • Support related process initiatives to ensure improved performance.
  • Provide financial planning and forecasting to meet business requirements.
  • Provide variance analysis and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Work with corporate accounting team to ensure a timely and accurate month end closing.
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of the Oracle ERP system.
  • Provide guidance in cost savings, capital appropriations, and inventory management.
  • Provide effective and accurate KPI’s and operational performance reporting.
  • High level of Safety Engagement.
 
qualifications:
Required
  • Associates degree required in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field. 
  • 1+ years of experience in finance/accounting preferred. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally 
  • Advanced level of MS Excel 
  • Experience extracting and analyzing large data sets and multiple variables and using a financial mind set to interpret data 
Preferred
  • Analytical experience in the manufacturing industry 
  • Experience with Oracle or a similar enterprise system (ERP) 
  • Ability to communicate business information to internal and external customers

The annual salary range for this position is anywhere from $60,000 to $75,000
