Permitting Specialist 
Schneider Geospatial is excited to welcome a Permitting Specialist to our growing professional services team. We are looking for a team member that has strong technical skills and advanced knowledge of local government operations, especially within Planning & Zoning, Building/Construction, Code Enforcement, Highway, Health, E911, and more. This role focuses on the setup of new clients with Schneider Geospatial’s online Permitting and Licensing SaaS products, working closely with client contacts to ensure a smooth implementation. Setup activities are followed by client training and software configuration to ensure the system will successfully meet the client’s needs. 
  
Following the implementation phase, Permitting Specialists provide excellent remote customer service for clients to ensure their success with our products.  An ideal Permitting Specialist will use problem solving skills to troubleshoot customer issues and provide user guidance related to our software products and related technologies.

What You’ll Do 
  • Direct engagement with client organizations and their users to understand their processes and integrate our software solutions to improve those processes.

  • Be on the frontlines of modernizing government organizations with advanced software technologies.
  • Work in small teams with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Configuration and deployment of SaaS product updates for new and existing clients.
  • Analyze client in-office processes and translate into workflow design.
  • Leverage Geographic Information System (GIS) and database technologies to deliver innovative solutions to clients.
  • Train clients on how to use their Schneider Geospatial software products.
  • Development of documentation and other reference materials to be used for implementation, training, and support.
  • Remote and/or on-site installation, configuration, and testing of the solution(s) being implemented
  • Excellent communication, enunciation, and grammar skills are important.
 
  
What We’re Looking For 
We are seeking candidates who are self-motivated, team-oriented, eager to learn, and people-focused. 
 
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • BA/BS or Certificate in Community and Regional Planning, Construction Management and Inspection, Public Administration, GIS, Geography, or a related field; or a relevant combination of education and experience.

  • Three years or more of GovTech or workflow software experience is preferred.  
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Strong desire to successfully and enthusiastically support software that is being used to solve customer problems.
  • Experience with local government (county or municipal) operations, especially pertaining to permitting, licensing, and code enforcement.
  • Demonstrated experience with e-government solutions, particularly under a SaaS and professional services model. Implementation experience strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of GIS technologies, ESRI's ArcGIS platform.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive approach.
  • Desire to work in small teams with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate (oral and written) in the English language and possess excellent grammar skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • This position may require light travel to client sites, depending on assigned portfolio. A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and the ability to be covered by the company’s insurance are required.
