South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Settlement Specialist to join our team of outstanding Finance professionals in North Charleston, SC.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

Settlements – ATM

  • Validate ATM cash deliveries to cash orders and provide the appropriate general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile and research ATM cash vendor vault entries to general ledger daily and make corrections when necessary.
  • Reconcile ATM cash-on-hand daily, provide weekly reporting to team and ensure that exceptions are cleared in a timely manner.
  • Provide daily and monthly outage and statistical reports to management

 

Settlements –Credit Card

  • Responsible for daily credit card settlement processing.
  • Research and resolve credit card settlement exceptions, adjustments and unposted monetary transactions daily. 
  • Prepare journal voucher entries for posting and balance to vendor reports daily.

 

Settlements – EFT Switch

  • Responsible for daily EFT Switch settlement processing. Research and resolve debit card settlement exceptions, adjustments and unposted monetary transactions daily.
  • Prepare journal voucher entries for posting and balance to vendor reports daily.

 

Cross-Functional Duties

  • Reconcile cash advances daily and work with internal members in clearing exceptions and with troubleshooting questions.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned.
  • Support Retail Sales and departments with Card Operations processing questions and issues via email, member diary, telephone, and in person. Establish and deepen relationships with internal members by understanding their business objectives as they relate to Card Operations and provide exemplary support.
  • Maintain proficiency in all duties and responsibilities of Card Operations, to serve as a back-up as needed.
  • Serve as liaison within the team and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Presents all items requiring attention to Team Lead.

 

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Possess an education equivalent to 2 years of college or an associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration a similar or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess minimum of two years of similar or related experience
  • Possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills where discretion, accuracy, and clarity are essential. 
  • Possess intermediate understanding of accounting principles and theory.
  • Ability to research, resolve and support accounting transactions and account balances with minimal direction.
  • Be able to work independently or in teams.
  • Be able to make decisions based on established procedures
  • Possess intermediate mathematical skills performing calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, etc.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced proficiency in software programs, such as Excel and Access.
  • Possess problem-solving skills to resolve situations that go beyond clear, concise guidelines.
