Position at SBM Management

SVP, Finance Operations: The SVP, Finance Operations will be responsible for overseeing the forecasting and directing of operational budget performance. The individual will be responsible for planning, prioritization, design, and rollout of changes to SBM finance-related systems, which can include but are not limited to billing, procurement, expense management, revenue recognition, cost proposals.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Actively interface with finance and operations teams to set and deliver operating budget performance and maintain sustainable metrics for operational and customer service excellence
  • Provide clear communication to the Senior Leadership and Operations Management on established financial indicators
  • Lead project teams within the Finance function as well as support training needs of other Finance managers
  • Participate in financial due diligence for new business opportunities (RFP review, bid modeling, contract administration)
  • Primary sponsor of the operating P&L’s that provides profitability analysis by work locations and programs
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of internal financial policies and supports adherence to established procedures
  • Maintain a variety of resources to accurately support cost accounting, forecasting and financial due diligence
  • Ensure that financial cost models meet the reporting requirements of our operating units, clients, and GAAP reporting
  • Recommend and help design changes to finance business systems, including configuration changes, changes to integrations between systems, and software changes to in-house systems
  • Provide recommendations on expenditure and revenue requirements to better align the organization on major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies
  • Lead efforts to provide accurate reporting and analytics with a focus on improving processes and implementing automation where possible
  • Oversee maintenance and support of SBM’s business intelligence, reporting, planning, and analytics systems
  • Maintains a working understanding of all business systems, including both third-party and in-house systems
  • Directly support Operations in preparation of existing budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification for both internal and external use
  • Provide operations with consistent visibility to current financial performance through weekly communications and reporting
  • Escalate critical financial issues through appropriate SLT and operation channels to ensure monthly/quarterly performance goals are achieved.
  • Identify key cost drivers in various lines of business to continuously improve pricing structure and increase the organization’s competitive advantage
  • Utilize market intelligence to quantify emerging market segments and increase the existing customer value proposition
  • Occasional travel required to support operational initiatives
  • Other task as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business. CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required.
  • 8+ plus years of financial management experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and growing environment strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a service (not manufacturing) business with activity-based project costing
