Accounts Payable Clerk
Description
SBM is searching for an Accounts Payable Clerk, Real Estate! The AP Clerk will be part of our real estate services group which consists of over 11,000 residential lots and several million square feet of commercial property in multiple projects, located in California and Hawaii. The position will support the horizontal and vertical improvements of the existing and future releases. The individual will work with a highly motivated, cohesive, and problem-solving group of dedicated individuals and professional consultants devoted to developing quality communities that will sustain over time, and not to just develop another typical subdivision. The AP Clerk will be responsible for compiling, classifying, and verifying records. The individual will maintain data and payments to accounts payable and receivable records by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and deliver accounts payable related mail daily
- Review, receive and process invoices daily
- Review, audit and obtain approval for payments and research of invoices daily
- Properly code invoices and reconcile invoiced amounts to budgets
- Prepare accounts payable checks and manager approval forms
- Filing of accounting documents and records
- Vendor, Insurance, and lien release tracking
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements, research, and resolve any discrepancies
- Answer accounts payable inquiries within time frame of 48 hours
- Input of transactional journal and cash receipt entries
- Assist in (accrual based) monthly and annual close deadlines
- Cross train and multitask to support current department needs
- Assist with related special projects, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience with Yardi Accounting software, spreadsheets preferred.
- Project Job Cost and Real estate experience preferred
- Detail oriented, organized and close attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong computer skills
- Basic knowledge of GAAP
- Required to have a valid driver’s license
- Associates degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting, or a related field from a two-year college or university with 1-2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Shift: Full Time
