Arborist
Description
SBM Management is searching for an Arborist to join our team! The Arborist is responsible for assessing, maintaining, and enhancing the health and appearance of trees and shrubbery on the property.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to safety protocols and regulations to ensure the well-being of oneself, coworkers, clients, and the public.
- Operates and maintains specialized equipment such as chainsaws, wood chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Responsible for pruning, trimming, and shaping trees and hedges to promote healthy growth, improve aesthetics, and ensure safety.
- Responsible for responding to storm damage, fallen trees, or other tree-related emergencies to clear hazards and restore safety.
- Safely removes trees that are dead, diseased, or pose a hazard to property or people.
- Gather, remove, and dispose of green-waste and/or trash materials
- Identify tree diseases, pests, and other health issues, and recommending appropriate treatment plans.
- Evaluates trees for potential risks such as structural weaknesses or proximity to power lines, and implementing measures to mitigate these risks.
- Provides recommendation for appropriate tree species for specific locations and planting them using proper techniques.
- Assist with other estate groundskeeping tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- May be required to have a valid drivers license.
- Strong knowledge of tree biology, pruning techniques, and plant health care practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in tree care, landscaping, or related field.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
