AP Assistant Manager
Description
The Accounts Payable Assistant Manager will assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and policies for the Accounts Payable Department. This individual will assist in managing accounts payable including staff, invoices, vendor reconciliations and payment of invoices to ensure business controls, processes, and procedures according to SBM Policy and GAAP.
Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise AP staff, schedule training, and assign and review work
- Assist in reviewing timekeeping daily for non-exempt staff
- Review and approve major vendor accounts and assist to prepare monthly reconciliations with staff
- Assist in developing and updating department’s forms, policies, and procedures
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Assist with month end close duties
- Resolve discrepancies and suggest appropriate corrective procedures to the AP Manager and Procurement department leadership
- Communicate and coordinate accounting policies and procedures across departments, vendors, and clients
- Assist in reviewing, preparing, and processing weekly pay runs
- Assist in answering accounts payable payment inquiries and schedule necessary meetings to resolve balance or account risks
- Provide excellent customer service
- Address errors and complaints constructively and professionally
- Support recruiting efforts as well as create structure and help develop a high performing team
- Crosstrain in all tasks and duties of the team
- Help to plan and support teambuilding activities while encouraging staff participation
Qualifications:

- At minimum an associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with 2 – 3 years of progressive accounts payable work experience.
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Complete understanding of GAAP
- Prior supervision experience required
- Procure to pay experience preferred
Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000 per year
Shift: Full Time - this role is in office daily.
