What you’ll be working on: 
The Cost Accountant position for this global thrift retailer supports Saver’s business results by driving operational improvements in Inventory Management and Supply Chain.  This position works with cross-functional teams on projects that enhance the accuracy, completeness and relevancy of data originated from Supply Chain and used by Accounting for journal entries, management reporting, operational dashboards and financial analysis and used by Supply Chain Finance for forecasting. This position reports to the Manager, Cost Accounting.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Analyzes and reconciles large data sets from various systems.  Gains an understanding of how information flows into/out of various systems
  • Documents and maintains the accounting processes and procedures to assist in improving internal controls and increase efficiencies.
  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Participates in the monthly close cycle including creation of journal entries and channel view P&L’s.
  • Commercial Fundraising filing support
  • Special projects as needed
  • Collaborate with IT to drive systems and process efficiencies
  • Participate in annual audit with external audit firm
  • Collaborate with compliance team on controls/compliance initiatives
  • Assist in standard costing process for new inventory purchases
  • Assist in implementation of inventory module 
What you have:
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes and practices with specific focus on cost accounting/supply chain accounting and financial analysis
  • Standard costing and cost accounting
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Demonstrated organization skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and controls/compliance infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP – US and international

  • Dynamics 365 and Cognos experience preferred
Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience and skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in cost accounting and related supply chain finance support
