What you’ll be working on:
The Senior Manager, Telecommunications is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive telecom strategy, roadmaps and policies to align with the organizational goals in additional to overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of a company's telecommunications systems, which include telephone, data, and audio systems. The position is heavily focused on vendor management, billing accuracy, telco service delivery, and inventory accuracy (asset management). The position owns the ITIL Asset Management practice to be implemented across all Savers IT. This role reports to the Director, IT Infrastructure.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of Telco services (voice / data / cellular), meaning vendor selection, price negotiation, ongoing support, and roadmap vision for refresh / replacement.
- Manages vendor relationships to ensure alignment of expectations, negotiation of contracts, optimal processes for escalation and resolution, and overall relationship health.
- Responsible for the deployment of provided standards for site installations include new stores and retrofits specific to low voltage cabling.
- Create, maintain, and enforce standards and procedures for the department.
- Develop and manage telecom budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Develops and maintains telecommunications infrastructure to ensure efficient and reliable communication including structured cabling, data circuits, and other retail store systems such as registers and paging systems
- Monitor and test system performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with telecom services by maintaining reliable and efficient telecom systems.
- Analyze business needs to consolidate and optimize related telco costs.
- Supervise and provide training for the team.
- Ensures all systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
What you have:
- Deep understanding of telecom technologies, infrastructure, and emerging trends.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in managing carrier vendor relations and the delivery of carrier services
- Experience managing telecommunications technology lifecycle which includes product/service selection, deployment, and operational support.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrated vendor management skills
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings
- Working knowledge of store and field operations
- Demonstrated customer services and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently or as a member of the team
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, computer science or related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- 10+ years in managing IT teams
- 5+ years of experience in structured cabling and telecommunications field
