Description

  • Work closely with a variety of teams including technical and product teams and third parties.
  • Assist with both manual and automated testing of web apps, APIs, and mobile apps and VTRIMB digital platforms
  • Being able to think outside of the box and find ways to break the code and find and report defects
  • Support with bug fix re-testing
  • Assist with UAT and defect management
  • Execute regression testing as needed
  • Document the test scripts and procedures where required
  • Perform through regression testing as needed
  • Execute test plan and cover all activities in the test plan to ensure all objectives are met, and the solution works as expected
  • Test solutions in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other systems
  • Test and support VTRIMB data feeds and integrations
    • APIs (REST & GraphQL)
    • React JS (Web app)
    • React Native (App)
    • XML data feeds

This knowledge skills required 

  • This role requires in depth technical testing knowledge of modern web apps, mobile apps, APIs as well as understanding of automated test design and enhancing the test automation framework and adding new automated scenarios.
  • Good understanding of the QA process, tools, and methodologies
  • Experience with using testing tools and applications
  • Able to work with all levels of business with different level of software application knowledge, back end, middleware and frontend technologies
  • Take ownership and responsibility for end-to-end testing for feature application development
  • Attention to details and being able to think outside the box
  • Familiar with test scenario/case design, defect management and test report
  • Experience with Agile testing and prior experience working with an agile team
  • A relevant tertiary and or professional qualification in testing, ISTQB is required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of testing experience, you will be experienced in web, APIs, and mobile application testing environments as well as having a sound knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and/or Agile development
  • Knowledge of at-least one programming language (preferably Python)  and being able to pick up new technologies as needed

Other
  • A police and probity check are required
  • A requirement to be able to work the core hours between 9am to 5pm AU time.
  • Previous working knowledge with QA tools and automation frameworks such as: BrowserStack, Playwright, Postman/Insomnia, pytest (or similar test runners), Jmeter and similar tools.
  • Experience with writing script and working with IDEs and version controls (git/bitbucket) tools
  • Knowledge of operations of the horse racing industry is an advantage
