Assistant Accountant (SO2)

POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Group Accountant and working closely with the broader Finance team, this role will be responsible for Accounts Payable & Receivable activities as well as the management of cashflow and other general accounting support across the group.
Role Clarity:
This position is operational in its focus. There is a need for highly developed communicate skills and stakeholder management. Superior attention to detail and a strong collaborative work style is fundamental.
Supervision Received/Guidance Available
A largely autonomous role with the provision of guidance and mentoring from the Group Accountant/Financial Controller, as required or requested. An assertive pragmatic approach is required to support a diverse group of stakeholders and manage competing demands
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Accounts Payable
- Timely and accurate processing of all non−stock related invoices
- Payment to suppliers based on trading terms
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Liaising with suppliers
- Processing of invoices and credit notes where necessary
- Processing of all debtor receipts
- Account reconciliations
- Timely and accurate cashflow management and reporting (Historical and Forecast)
- Management of petty cash
- Administration of Corporate credit cards and related expenses
- Maintenance of fixed assets register and annual stock take
- Assistance to Group Accountant
- Ensure that the workplace is maintained at a safe and healthy level
- 3 − 5 years Finance experience
- Exposure to SAGE ERP system (advantageous)
- FCMG related work experience
- Ability to produce accurate outcomes under the pressure of mandatory reporting timeframes
- Understanding of (and ability to apply) Australian Accounting standards
