SUMMARY
The Satellite Office Finance Controller manages the Satellite Office finance team to function collaboratively and in support of the KING finance teams. The role is responsible to the Global Finance Manager for coordinating the accounting processes and supporting global accounting, audit and improving the accounting function to assist the international growth of KING.
 
The role is a key support to the Finance team and will ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions and delivering timely, accurate and compliant financial information across all jurisdictions. 
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITES
Team Leadership
  • Manage, motivate, and assess performance of the Satellite Office Finance team.
  • Create a function of best practise with ongoing continuous improvement through well documented and enhanced procedures and improvements in controls and processes through greater automation and system development to drive efficiencies and value across the finance team.
  • Provide support, development and mentoring to team members to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness.
  • Manage workload and balance within the team, ensuring all team members are working at optimum capacity.
Statutory Accounting and Global Compliance
  • Support the day-to-day global accounting to ensure timely, accurate and compliant statutory financial reporting for KING and related entities globally, including group consolidations, as well as operational support for annual audits globally.
  • Ensure accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with KING accounting policies, principles and practices including reconciliation of sub-ledgers, balance sheet accounts and transactions between entities with a minimum clearance time for all reconciling items. 
  • Collaborate with finance management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment and reporting of financial data, including the set up and maintenance of weekly/monthly/annual accounting routines.
  • Interpret guidelines and regulations to devise the most effective implementation and recommend revisions to accounting policies, procedures, and programs where necessary.
Other
  • Be the function accounting expert, identify and assess the impact of a wide range of transactional processes on the group. In doing so, provide sound advice on accounting treatment and lead the most effective implementation of any changes as a result.
  • Support new market expansion, including but not limited to corporate regulations and implementation of financial structure, systems, and process.
  • Support the Sydney Office team in all areas of Finance, including accounting, tax accounting and transactional related projects to drive efficiencies and value across the business.
  • Other ad-hoc duties and projects as directed. 
CAPABILITIES 
  • Over 5 years’ post qualification experience with a combination of transactional accounting, financial reporting and leadership roles in global corporate groups and global shared service centres.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of International Accounting Standards, intercompany transactions, global accounting across multiple jurisdictions and cross border transactions.
  • Solid experience in process improvements and system enhancements, with a strong understanding and experience in best practice accounting, system, and governance practices
  • Hands on, strong technical expert with a solid knowledge of internal control mechanisms
  • Proficient with large ERP systems, preferably SAP, with a proven ability to move through large amounts of data with advanced excel ability.
