Junior Accountant (SO2)
Description
DUTIES:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Meeting deadlines and providing a high quality, professional service to all clients;
- Delivering a high level of customer service to all clients;
- Perform all compliance and value add work as required to the highest possible standard;
- Assistance with the preparation of financial accounts and income tax returns, business activity statements, instalment activity statements and any other work performed by others;
- Preparation of individual, company, trust, partnership tax returns;
- General knowledge of GST and PAYG Withholding and the associated Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements reporting;
- Preparing and self-review of working papers, analysis of client data etc;
- Knowledge of tax office correspondence and procedures (including Assessments, objections etc);
- Identify and develop existing and potential business opportunities within the assigned client portfolio in collaboration with Manager and Client Partner;
- Assist with potential and new client opportunities or initiatives such as attending client meetings, preparation of advice and presentations;
- Administrative Compliance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- 1-2+ years experience in a public practice preferred;
- Be hard working, passionate and dedicated;
- An ability to work under pressure;
- An ability to prioritise work effectively;
- Strong analytical & problem solving skills;
- Cloud accounting solution skills (MYOB, Xero, Quickbooks etc) & Microsoft software skills preferred;
- A flexible attitude with a healthy initiative;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Well organised with the ability to multitask;
