Systems Engineer (SO2)
Description
You will work collaboratively with teams across Symbio in delivering systems and services as well
as ensuring we understand the health of our systems at any point in time to reduce outages. You
will also take a lead role in providing governance to our use of the Elastic stack
Responsibilities/Performance Indicators
- Managing key stakeholders for your team
- Participate effectively in meetings.
- Contribute to High Performance Team environment.
- Actively share knowledge with your entire team.
- Provide level 3 support to other internal teams as required
Qualifications and Experience
- 1+ years' experience ELK administration experience
- 2+ years' experience working in large multi-region enterprise environments
- Good Linux System Administration skills
- Experience with additional monitoring, alerting, and visualisation tools such as:
a. InfluxDB / Telegraf / Grafana
b. Prometheus - Exposure to automation frameworks such Ansible & Terraform
- Good scripting skills (esp. Python, Shell/Bash)
- Working knowledge of databases (incl. SQL, time-series)
- Experience managing and monitoring in AWS
- Broader programming skills highly desirable (incl. Javascript/NodeJS, Go)
- Experience with development tools - Gitlab, CI/CD, etc
- Technical experience in a (Global) Telco/ISP/Large enterprise - especially with
data and VoIP networks - Having a logical approach in solving complex technical issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player – good interpersonal skills
- Ability to think outside of the box and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Customer outcome focussed attitude
