Assistant Accountant (SO2)

About the role

Directly reporting to the Senior Accountant, the successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative team who are passionate about what they do and will be provided the opportunity to further develop their finance and accounting skill set. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Raising Sales invoices
  • Setting up suppliers and supplier agreements
  • Raising purchase orders and entering supplier invoices
  • Respond to supplier account queries and resolve any invoice discrepancies in a professional manner
  • Helping the operations team with scheduling the jobs
  • Checking stock levels and re-ordering low stock
  • Assist with month reports
  • Ad-hoc duties within the finance team

Skills and Experience

  • Accounting degree from an Australian Tertiary Institution
  • 2-4 years’ experience in similar company accounting role with hands on approach covering the above duties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Simpro and XERO is advantageous
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and in particular intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Proactive approach and positive attitude
  • Strong ability to solve problems, offer solutions and make decisions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and the ability to multi-task
