Job summary: 

KING is a rapidly growing and expanding business, having recently expanded in 2021 into the United Kingdom and has ambitious goals for further expansion. 

We are looking for an SEO wizard who will join the Ecommerce Platforms Team.  You will be reporting to and working with the Ecommerce Platforms Team Manager who has previous International SEO experience to optimise the KING websites.   

We are looking for someone who can work independently and autonomously to achieve the agreed SEO goals on our 6 websites and counting! 

What will I be doing? 

  • Optimising our already existing pages and categories (on-page optimisation) 
  • Performing keyword research and mapping those keywords to existing pages or proposing new pages to be created to fill in keyword or content gaps 
  • Develop and execute a link buying strategy.  
  • Work with our Web Development Agency to improve our website page speed. 
  • Checking and re-optimising images that are too large in file size. 
  • Assist with setting up, editing, and maintaining our Google Analytics properties. 
  • Keep on top of Google Search Console error and warning notifications.  
  • Working with our Content Team to get search engine optimised content and adding that content onto our websites’ pages in alignment with the on page SEO strategy. 
  • Keeping on top of 404s and 301 redirecting where appropriate.  
  • Keeping our URLs for content pages, category pages, and product pages consistent across all countries (where possible) to keep our hreflang tags valid.  
  • Creating reporting dashboards to report to the Ecommerce Platforms Team Manager the performance of the Organic Search Traffic channel in Google Analytics as well as the overall change in keyword rankings.  

Position Requirements: 

  1. Minimum of 2 years hands on experience in the SEO field working on Ecommerce Websites.  
  2. Has an intermediate understanding of HTML and basic understanding of CSS. 
  3. Have a sound understanding of International SEO best practise. 
  4. Well versed with core SEO and Analytics tools - Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads Keyword Planner (to assist with research), Google My Business, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, etc.  
  5. Have a clear understanding of Website Page Speed and how to optimise for it, as well as understanding of Page Speed Reporting Tools like GTMetrix, Google PageSpeed Insights + Lighthouse. 
  6. Proficient with Google Product Suite or Microsoft Office Suite, primarily around Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel. 
  7. Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with our web development agency, communicating what the issue is, why it’s an issue, what the resolution is, and, once the change has been made, then testing and checking the change has been made correctly on our staging websites before rolling out the change to our Production websites.  
  8. A confident and considered approach to problem-solving and project management.

SEO Strategy 

Develop, document and gain endorsement from defined business stakeholders on an SEO strategy that should include at minimum the current years and the 2-year horizon plan. 

Build and maintain and ongoing documents of key criteria that supports the SEO decision making process, including but not limited to, Key Audience Research, Keyword Research, website performance reports and more.  

In line with yearly budgets, have a signed off (by reporting manager) Strategy document that is current and includes a minimum 2-year strategy. 

 

 

Organic Search and Search Rankings 

Key focus on defining, monitoring and improving both Organic Search and Search Ranking results across all King Living websites. 

Prove improved Organise Search Metrics in agreed periods.

Technical SEO Issues Resolution 

 

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical SEO issues, enlisting help from internal and external resources when needed.  

Monitor for issues proactively using SEO tools like DeepCrawl, GTMetrix, Google PageSpeed Insights + Lighthouse, as well as reactively when Google Search Console flags errors or warnings.   

Keep technical SEO issues to a minimum.  

Resolve issues as quickly as possible. 

Warnings and Errors in Google Search Console are actioned quickly. 

Direct off-site optimisation projects 

Build, action, maintain, and report on strategies for off-site link building – both paid and unpaid.  

Actively review Google Knowledge Panels, ensuring information is accurate and relevant.   

Ensure Google My Business, Bing Places, and other major directory websites, are kept up to date with opening hours, public holiday opening hours, etc.  

Link building budget is allocated logically each month.  

External Profiles are kept up to date.  

Reporting 

Build, maintain and analyse their own to maintain data structures and reporting packs in order to prove credibility of initiatives undertaken.  

Demonstrate how initiatives are performing and how it fits into the overall strategy. 

Benchmark performance and show clear results that you are improving rankings and other defined metrics. 

 

Report monthly and quarterly to demonstrate improvements to search rankings, accuracy of external profiles.
