Key Responsibilities

Merchandise Plan

  • Maximise stock availability to the customer
  • Conduct sku/store analysis to determine stock allocations per store
  • Perform effective stock allocations across all stores
  • Amend stock allocations as requested
  • Analyse past sales trends to determine suitable future stock allocations
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through changes in merchandise allocations
  • Provide assistance to Assistant Planner and Planner with inventory management
  • Advise on over/under stock for adoption into buy/option/flow plans

Store Grading’s & Assortments

  • Perform allocations in accordance with agreed store ranging
  • Maintain markdown price conditions and item status within SAP
  • Maintain replenishment parameter loads in SAP as directed
  • Gather and analyse store performance with the view of forward stock requirements
  • Understand and map individual store "DNA" to enhance the quality and quantity of stock that is allocated and managed by a single store

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Report using documented procedures, all work-related injuries and unsafe situations, including ‘near misses’ to your Line Manager
  • Abide by all workplace health and safety policies & procedures
Stock Management
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of all data
  • Adjust purchase orders and allocations in a timely manner
  • Verify accountability on PO
  • Ensure advertised stock is in required stores in time for promotion and any exclusions are advised to Buyer, Planner and BA's in a timely manner
  • Review store inventory holding and action future allocations to improve the stock to sales ratio
  • Manage in stock of product
Compliance
  • Ensure all compliance standards are met within the allocation role
  • Maintain knowledge of ACCC procedures
  • Participate in regular training and updates with the Compliance Manager
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws in all media/advertising

Capability Profile 

 

Formal Education 

 

  • Qualification in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance (desirable) 

 

Skills and Knowledge 

 

  • Knowledge of the Planning process

  • Operational expertise using a merchandise management system 

 

Experience 

 

  • Previous allocation experience is an advantage 
  • Previous store retail experience to understand stock flow cycles and impacts 
  • Intermediate experience using Excel (essential) 
  • Proven experience analysing data and numbers
