Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of the data governance/management frameworks, policies, standards, practices, and procedures
  • Act as the Chief Data Steward across all Data Domain groups within the organisation
  • Plan, prioritise and execute data governance/management related initiatives in support of the Data and Analytics Strategy
  • Define and communicate clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for data governance/management and educate those roles in data governance/managemen concepts
  • Lead and facilitate a community of practice that brings together data governance roles across the organisation
  • Perform an ongoing maturity assessment of data governance/management practices and identification of any people, process & technology needs to close any gaps
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of data governance, data quality, reference and master data management, and business glossary technologies
  • Lead the development and adoption of data governance, metadata management, data protection, data quality, reference, and master data management best practices
  • Lead the implementation of a data and data product catalog
  • Grow and mentor a team of data governance/management specialists

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, data management or analytics field is highly regarded
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role with demonstrated experience leading data governance/management related initiatives
  • Experience working with data governance/management technologies such as Microsoft Purview, Profisee, Ataccama, Collibra etc
  • Knowledge of industry standard frameworks such as DCAM or DAMA, data privacy and protection legislations including The Australian Privacy Act 1988
  • Excellent interpersonal and both oral and written communication skills Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience managing/leading a team
  • Capacity to align strategic and operational needs with organisational development initiatives
  • Solid project management experience
  • Ability to travel
