Assistant Finance Manager (SO2)

Position Summary
We are seeking for an Assistant Finance Manager who will become an integral part of the growth at Navia. A successful candidate will have experience with a scaling organization through organic and inorganic/M&A growth. They will be a key contributor in performance monitoring, financial and operational analysis, financial risk management, and compliance
Essential Functions
- Directly manage a small team of 2-3 within the different functions of the Finance organization
- Manage core accounting functions including journal entries/general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and cash application
- Review the general ledger to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Own and deliver key operational and financial performance metrics for management oversight and board reporting
- Lead integrations of acquired entities and related accounting systems into a consolidated accounting function
- Maintain and enhance internal controls for receipt of revenue, costs, receivables, payables, and capital expenditures.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks
- Lead and track all compliance filings to ensure timely submissions
- Interface with external auditors and be an internal leader of annual audit activity
- Track estimated tax payments and oversee annual tax process with outside tax advisor
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Role Requirement
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the audit division of a public accounting firm and/or working as an internal accountant with a company in the financial services or tech industry. Additional points if you also have private industry experience where you assisted in the establishment of a solid accounting function for a high-growth company.
- BA/BS degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university is required
- CPA is required
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving ability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to be a proactive member of a small team
- Self-starter and internally motivated
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and ability to perform financial analysis using shortcut keys, etc.
- Experience managing a small team of individuals is required
