Senior Financial Accountant

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparation of financial information for Management, the Board and Executive Committees.
Processing month end journals to produce the month end results as well as verifying entries and comparing to expectations
Partner with various internal stakeholders to review monthly results and drive financial performance as well as provide financial analysis and interpretation to drive optimal business outcomes
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet control including reconciliations.
Contribute to the budgeting processes to monitor, control, and evaluate costs, revenues, and cash flows
Develop and maintain strong internal controls regarding the performance of the month end process and reporting outputs
Provision of technical accounting expertise and advice to appropriately document commercial implications of business activities.
Preparation of statutory reporting adjustments and financial statements in compliance with AASB’s.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional certification in accounting - CA / CPA or equivalent
Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance, or related field.
Big 4 background - preferred
Previous experience in a financial or management reporting environment familiar with month end deliverables
Able to interpret and assess accounting standards and apply in the retail industry
Experience in ERP systems as well as Excel, Word, and Power-point at an intermediate to advanced level
Strong interpersonal communication skills
