Accountant (SO2)
Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
- We are looking for an experienced, qualified Accountant to act as support for our clients across all facets of accounts management
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Managing the end-to-end accounts function for our clients including bookkeeping, BAS, payroll, payment runs
- Accounts payable and receivables management
- Accurate supplier payment run preparation
- Debtor management and ensuring invoices are paid on time
- Accurate and timely preparation of client work
- Completion of IAS and BAS returns before the ATO due date
- Reconciling and reviewing accounts in a timely manner
- Ad-hoc assistance to the head of finance
- Helping implement best practices and process improvements
IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORUTNITY TO
- Participate in various strategy workshops and brainstorm sessions
- Broaden your generalist consulting skills and knowledge
- Assist with other commercial and analysis projects as required by your Manager(s)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Perfect and excellent written and spoken English
- Willing to work Australian hours (Melbourne)
- Knowledge of the Australian Tax System and Legislation
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Advanced knowledge of Gmail / Google Doc, Sheets, Mail, Calendar
- Experience with Xero (desirable, but if not we will teach you)
- Experience with Australian businesses is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as an Accountant is essential
- Bachelors Degree from a reputable College or University
- At least three years’ work experience
