As part of a wider accounting and finance team, you will responsible for the accounting function of one of the divisions of the Professional Advantage Group.

You will report to the Chief Financial Officer based in Sydney, Australia and will contribute to a high quality finance team that is able to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.

You have superior technical skills gained from academic study and the experience of making decisions independently. You will be highly organised with attention to detail. You have excellent verbal and written English communication skills and are able to design procedures which will ensure the consistent processing of transactions.

Key Responsibilities: 

With the support of the team based in Sydney, the Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting tasks which may include: 

  • Ensuring timely production of fortnightly financial accounts for the group, including reconciliation of intercompany loan accounts, provisions and accruals,  
  • Preparation of margin analysis for both each class of revenue, 
  • Accuracy of financial transactions and reference data in the company ledgers, 
  • Client invoicing and collections 
  • Expense processing 
  • Timesheet completion management and billing 
  • Synchronisation of various internal systems, 
  • Continuous process improvements, 
  • Extracting and presenting data for stake holders  
  • Product re-serialisations, 

Skills & Experience: 

  • CPA qualification 
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar independent role  
  • Exposure to an Australian organisation for at least 3 years 
  • Exposure to USA Sales Tax regime 
  • Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles, standards, legislation and processes 
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of reconciliations, accruals and provisions 
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written & verbal 
  • Experience using SunSystems an advantage
