PRIMARY PURPOSE: 
  • The operations analyst plays a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing and operations processes to ensure the highest quality of fresh fruits and vegetables reach our customers. This individual will analyse production data, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements in processing, packaging, and distribution operations. 
  • The goal is to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report on operations data, including cost per carton, packing and labour metrics. Use this data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements as well as support key performance indicators (KPI’s). 
  1. Bill of Material Analysis: Work with the NPD, Category and Productions teams to provide input to bills of material costings. 
  1. Process Optimization: Recommend and help implement enhancements to manufacturing and operation processes that can improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase the quality of the final produce. This may involve the adoption of new technologies, process re-engineering, or changes in workflow. 
  1. Cost Reduction: Analyse costs associated with the manufacturing of fresh produce, including raw materials, labour, and energy consumption. Identify areas where costs can be reduced without compromising quality. 
  1. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet all internal standards and regulatory requirements for food safety and quality. Suggest improvements to enhance quality control measures. 
  1. Project Management: Lead or contribute to projects aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency and product quality. This includes planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting on project progress. 
  1. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Recommend adjustments to comply with food safety laws and standards. 
  1. Collaboration: Communicate findings and recommendations to manufacturing, quality assurance, and management teams. Work collaboratively to implement process improvements. 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 
 
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or relevant. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or analytical role, preferably within food production / manufacturing industry. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex production data and translate it into actionable insights. 
  • Technical Proficiency: MS Office and high excel skills.   
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information across departments. 
  • Project Management Skills: Experience with project management, capable of leading projects to improve manufacturing processes and outcomes. 
DESIRABLE 
  • Knowledge of Fresh Produce Processing: Understanding of the processes involved in the handling, processing, and packaging of fresh produce, including food safety and quality standards.
