Job Family: Project Management

Oversees, develops and analyzes policies and practices related to project management and the project management office. Develops, analyzes and oversees project quality assurance and resource allocation. Enhances program and project management capabilities and operational oversight. Develops, edits and executes project plans to manage the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects. Defines, develops and deploys standardized project management tools and templates to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Job Function: Technical Project Management

Manages and implements internal or external IT projects or programs with a defined start and end. Leads team members from various job families through a defined project life cycle. Plans, develops, coordinates and assists with project activities through all project phases (e.g., project planning, execution, communication, financial management and issues/risk mitigation). Allocates, obtains and manages resources and project management tools to achieve project objectives. Creates and implements assessment processes to enforce timely completion of projects in accordance with standards and requirements.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Manager, Technical Project Management defines, leads, and manages all aspects of the project, scope, budget, financial forecasting, scheduling, resources, and quality control of work products following company's PMO standards and governance guidelines and project management best practices.




Essential Functions:

  • Creates budget proposals, accurate product specifications, and final pricing and specifications for projects.
  • Actively engages with peers, architects, designers, general contractors, facility management and internal project team to ensure a seamless and complete solution.
  • Provides schedule development, maintenance, performance and validation, and analysis for a specific project.
  • Provides risk management activities including identifying, analyzing and tracking risks to the development project.
  • Evaluates performed processes, work products, and services against the application process descriptions, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Prepares project costs and schedules estimates, and presentation materials, to support approvals.
  • Manages cross-functional teams and multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Meets with key stakeholders to understand business goals, feature requirements, and technical capabilities.
  • Assesses the quality of releases through monitoring of incoming bugs and code changes to identify quality issues and trends.
  • Tracks release milestones and schedules for the many moving parts that need to come together.
  • Manages communication of progress/status within the core team and partners; escalate issues as necessary.
  • Documents meeting minutes and decisions, and tracks and manages project risks and issues.
  • Collaborates with clients’ team members, vendor management, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and end user groups throughout project design, bid and installation phases.
  • Coordinates and Manages IS teams to complete hardware & software installations.
  • Coordinates Voltage Voice and Data Cabling Infrastructure design projects, to include buildout of Network Equipment Room (MDF / IDF ), vertical & horizontal cable.
  • Coordinates with Telecommunication vendors for Voice & Data circuits Coordination of Audio Visual cabling and hardware installation
  • Develops, manages and motivates direct reports to perform at or above expectations and to deliver effective project management methodologies and practices while building and maintaining customer and vendor relationships.
  • Manages direct reports in a positive and constructive manner, encouraging and motivating others, providing coaching and counseling where necessary.
  • Sets and reviews, on an ongoing basis, adequate and measurable goals and objectives to aid staff development


Other Functions:

  • Directs and reviews the work of the team and provides training to enhance knowledge and skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate managers and professional staff. Is responsible for the strategic guidance, development and evaluation of employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Santander’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Education -
    • Bachelor's Degree: business administration, computer science or equivalent
    • or equivalent work experience
  • Experience -
    • 5-9 years managing technology projects a portfolio of concurrent programs at various stages of execution.
    • 5-9 years IT project management experience in an enterprise environment.
    • 3-5 years Experience managing technical teams.
    • 5-9 years Experience with technology, infrastructure and application development, security and development tools.
    • 5-9 years Experience in all phases of the engineering lifecycle including: requirements; architecture; design; implementation; testing; and operations and maintenance.
    • 5-9 years Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.
    • 5-9 years Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and desktops in an enterprise organization
    • 5-9 years Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
  • Skills & Abilities -
    • Ability to take complicated technical problems and synthesize them into their key points.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage risks, estimate timelines, and keep the ball rolling when working with multiple teams.
    • Thorough knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
    • Ability to provide technical guidance and direction to team members and lower level technicians
    • Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies.
    • Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage risks, estimate timelines, and keep the ball rolling when working with multiple teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems.

    • Proven leadership and staff development skills.
  • Licenses & Certifications -
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scrum Master (CSM) certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently: Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
