Reporting into The Head of Digital Pricing Strategy, The Director, Product Management role is responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of Santander Consumer’s new digital lending platform.  This includes working with the Head of Digital on the lending platform’s development, initial rollout, future enhancements, profitability, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.   Your product forms the cornerstone of SC’s digital consumer experience - blending digital design with backend integration to develop a consumer experience that will be transformative and drive SC’s future lending strategy

To accomplish this, the Product Manager must possess a unique blend of leadership, creativity, business judgment, industry knowledge, and execution-oriented thinking. In addition, the Director, Product Management must utilize their analytical abilities to manage and implement the lending platforms unique pricing, credit policy, and overall strategy.

Job Family: Product Development & Management

Researches, develops and implements banking products and competitive pricing programs, with an understanding of available technology and how it can be leveraged to maximize both SC and customer outcomes. Continuously monitors the market and competitor strategies to ensure strategy, pricing, and policy are in line, establishing the lending platforms profitability while maintaining market share. Plans, directs, and facilitates all phases of the pricing strategy changes from inception through introduction into the marketplace. Ensures products meet regulatory and industry standards.

Job Function: Product Management

Oversees all activities and functions associated with products or product lines at all stages of their lifecycles. Gathers user requirements to provide product strategy and prepares product trainings for salespeople. Interfaces with and collaborates across functions and stakeholders (e.g., marketing and sales) to ensure successful product development and implementation. Develops pricing and distribution strategies. Plans product direction and evolution.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting into The Head of Digital Pricing Strategy, The Director, Product Management is responsible for the oversight and development of Santander Consumer’s new digital lending platform.  This includes the lending platform’s development, initial rollout, future enhancements, profitability, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.  



Essential Functions:

  • Works the Head of Digital Pricing Strategy to develop new lending platform’s overall strategy
  • Handles all aspects of the end-to-end product lifecycle for the lending platform’s features or products in whole.
  • Collaborates with business leaders partners to support and help create a compelling product vision, strategy and roadmap, and drive the platforms features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works with other workstream leaders through the company including, legal, marketing, engineering, risk and operations leaders to convert the product vision and strategy into a well-managed product roadmap with an iterative release cycles.
  • Works with the digital analytics team to develop pricing and credit policy strategy for the digital platform
  • Uses analytics to drive decision making and evolve products
  • Develops and maintains reporting on performance and profitability of the digital lending platform
  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance.
  • Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog for his or her products, balancing the requirements of customers and stakeholders.
  • Escalates and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product backlog.
  • Defines and executes deployment plan, working to insure that marketing and sales have what they need to be successful.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate managers and professional staff. Is responsible for the strategic guidance, development and evaluation of employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Santander’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Education -
    • Bachelor's Degree: In Business, Finance, or equivalent discipline.
    • Master's Degree: In Business, Finance, or equivalent discipline.

  • Experience -
    • 9-12 years Related work experience.
  • Skills & Abilities -
    • Solid understanding the impact of regulatory changes to the products
    • Firm understanding of Automotive Finance and banking including pricing and credit policy
    • Strong background in banking products and services
    • Demonstrated understanding of product development life cycle
    • Strong analytical skills/financial acumen
    • Demonstrates the ability to create strategic plans and lay out a strategic course of action to drive future business growth for a specific product
    • Self-starter: forward thinking, with a positive/can-do attitude
    • Demonstrates the ability to translate customer needs into marketable product features
    • Ability to communicate effectively to internal teams, key partners and executive management
    • Demonstrates the ability to translate client needs into marketable product features
    • Knowledge of ADO/TFS Preferred
    • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, Python, or R preferred
