Responsible for ensuring that all of the company's activities adhere to the necessary rules and regulations, and that the company complies with legal/regulatory statutes and jurisdictions.

Job Function: Compliance

Activities may include quantitative and qualitative analysis, transactional testing, monitoring, disclosure review, risk identification and remediation. Represents or supports the representation of the company to minimize compliance and regulatory risk by resolving issues and ensuring adherence to company and legal standards. Responsible for ensuring that all of the company's activities adhere to the necessary rules and regulations, and that the company complies with legal/regulatory statutes and jurisdictions.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Sr. Advisor, Compliance serves as an originations subject matter expert with TILA, ECOA, UDAAP, UDAP, CLA, and SCRA to ensure documents, projects, processes or product initiatives comply with regulatory and legal requirements and enterprise policy. S/he performs risk assessments, synthesizes analyses, identifies root cause(s), and provides recommendations to management that influence business solutions.

Essential Functions:

·         Conducts compliance monitoring.

· Performs transactional testing.

·         Serves as an originations subject matter expert to ensure documents, projects, processes or product initiatives comply with regulatory and legal requirements and enterprise policy.

·         Partners with business stakeholders in assigned business unit to respond to reports issued by regulatory agencies or audit.

·         Identifies systemic procedural weaknesses and additional training requirements needed to ensure compliance.

·         Assists with responses to regulatory inquiries and third party examiners.

·         Identifies compliance opportunities and potential solutions.

·         Performs risk assessments, synthesizes analyses, identifies root cause(s), and provides recommendations to management.

·         Provides compliance input on business action plans, projects, or operational requests.

·         Provides insight and guides management on issues.

·         Offers recommendations and makes project related decisions within scope of work assignment.

·         Serves as a resources to team members on escalated issues of unusual nature.

·         Mentors and enhances compliance staff knowledge competencies.

·         Ensures proper implementation of business requirements and identifies outstanding compliance issues.


Other Functions:

·         Acts as an originations subject matter expert (SME) while providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other team members.

·         Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

·         Education -

o    Bachelor's Degree: Business or Finance.

o    Master's Degree: Business, Finance, or equivalent field.

o Bonus, Juris Doctor Degree.

·         Experience -

o    5-7 years Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, Consulting, or Automobile Finance.

·         Skills & Abilities -

o    Design and execution of compliance control testing.

o    Detail orientated with the ability to also understand overall strategy.

o    Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.

o    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

o    Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to be adept in identifying and resolving complex risk management problems.

o    Excellent project management skills.

o    Ability to build and foster internal relationships.

o    Ability to analyze risk and design efficient control practices to minimize risk.

o    Ability to lead, influence and direct peers, subordinates and management.

o    Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances.

o    Ability to interact with senior level management; experience interfacing with multiple levels of the organizational structure.

o    Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.).

o   Ability to build and execute quality control scripting.

o Proficient with underwriting concepts and analyses.

Working Conditions:

·         Frequently: Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.

·         Occasional moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.

·         Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
