Description

The Engineering Manager is technical leader for the site overseeing process engineering, project engineering, production maintenance and facilities maintenance functions. As a member of the site leadership team, the Engineering Manager leads the development & delivery of solutions to support the quality, performance and delivery of products and enhancement of value to our customers. This position requires strong leadership with an emphasis on excellence and continuous improvement.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage cross functional teams including process/project engineering and production/facilities maintenance.
  • Develop, coach, train and mentor staff and build a world class technical organization.
  • Identify technical solutions to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce conversion loss.
  • Standardize equipment setup and changeovers.
  • Enhance Total Preventative Maintenance programs on production and facility equipment.
  • Identify and implement new cost savings initiatives.
  • Lead automation efforts and process improvement projects.
  • Maintain and oversee ongoing maintenance of the facility and site.
  • Manage and forecast capital budgets.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 10 years’ manufacturing, engineering and maintenance experience.
  • 5 years’ experience managing/leading engineers and technical teams.
  • Prior technical/management experience in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with high speed assembly or packaging equipment in an automated environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in science, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing and adhering to budget expectations.
  • Proven record of significant improvements in industry.
  • Six Sigma Certification or Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated success in change management.

 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
