Now we have an exciting new opportunity for a Market Development Manager. This position will ideally be centrally located in order to cover either the territory of Denmark and the south of Sweden or Norway and the west of Sweden. Regular travel will be required, including visits to the regional office in Stockholm area of Sweden.

 

 

Summary/Objective:

 

The Market Development Manager will be responsible for identifying growth account targets from existing customer list, new account targets, implementation of sales support, and ensuring successful relationships to drive sales growth.

 

This position will uncover growth opportunities throughout the territory in various markets, provide local market economic insights, contribute to the development of strategic marketing plans, including, but not limited to, the analysis of customer segments, competitor analysis, business trends, and vertical market opportunities.

 

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

 

  1. Cultivate new and current customers in assigned territory to identify new opportunities.
  2. Develop key account strategy and prioritize pipeline opportunities.
  3. Develop best practices to prioritize account interest and appropriate follow up.
  4. Efficiently use Salesforce to research accounts, identify key contacts, and reach out to prospective customers.
  5. Work with customers on design in opportunities and resolution of technical issues.
  6. Assist in sales channel education of new products and technical selling features.
  7. Collaborate with the Sales team to penetrate targeted accounts with innovative and strategic approaches based on territory.
  8. Support the sales team with qualified opportunities from quote to purchase order.
  9. Build strong professional relationships across the Sales and Marketing Departments.
  10. Identify market needs and feed market-based ideas to Marketing and Product Development.
  11. Collect competitive intelligence and build technical knowledge of competitor products and applications.
  12. Regular reporting of sales activities to management.

 

 

 

Required Experience:

Experience in a sales role or another profession, where selling or identifying new opportunities, is desired.

  1. Knowledge of industry products, competitors, and technological advancements within the industry is preferred.
  2. Self-motivation is essential as this person will be working from a home-based office.
  3. Travel throughout the area will be required approximately 3-4 days per week.
  4. Knowledge in electronics industry strongly preferred.
  5. Sales experience highly desirable (approximately 2 years of experience).
  6. A current and valid driving licence.
  7. Being located with area of the main customer base is preferred.

 

 

Preferred Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree: emphasis in engineering, business / commerce, or communications preferred.
  2. Fluency in English and one other Scandinavian language (Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish) is essential.
