Job Summary:                   
              
The Cable MFG Maintenance team is seeking a new Maintenance Technician looking to collaborate in a high-performance team while providing an outstanding customer experience and keeping Samtec’s DNA focus. The position will require the applicant to provide technical support on machine maintenance and verifications, setups & perform troubleshooting and proper escalation of issues.               


Shift: Sunday to Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

             
              
Functions:             
  1. Technical support for production equipment (Mechanical, electric, electronic, etc.)
  2. Follow up instructions for preventative maintenance and machine verifications.
  3. Attend all machines and equipment issues.
  4. Measure tooling/parts and use corporate prints and technical documentation to provide solutions for production machines as needed.
  5. Create and design new tools with the tooling engineering team.
  6. Perform troubleshooting processes and escalations following established procedures.
  7. Follow procedures to set up/Adjust production machines.
  8. Communicate through shifts important information regarding machines status, spares, etc.
  9. Work with the engineering, quality, and operations team in improvement opportunities and joint venture initiatives.
  10. Any other job-related functions as requested by the Maintenance Coordinator or manager.
  11. Must lift weights up to 50 pounds, sit for long periods of time.
  12. Use the safety equipment required to perform your duties (earplugs, safety glasses, and other protective equipment).

Requirements:             
             
  • Formal Technical Education as a Toolmaker, Machinist (Precision Mechanical tech).
  • At least 1-year experience as a tool maker.
  • Intermediate written and oral communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • Great teamwork(member/leader) & communication skills.
  • Proactive & eager to improve.
  • Proficient when working under pressure.
