Senior Signal Integrity Test Engineer

Shift:                      Monday to Friday    6:00 am – 3:00 pm

Job Summary:      

The new SI Test department is seeking an electrical engineer who is intelligent, eager to learn & grow, and loves developing and deploying innovative solutions to complex challenges in the cable manufacturing area. You will collaborate in a high-performance team while providing an outstanding customer experience and keeping Samtec’s DNA focus

Functions:

  • Overview the SI Test Lab and provide support as required.
  • Analyze test data on a diary basis and provide feedback to production/QA/engineering teams.
  • Guide and direct investigation activities of multifunctional teams related with SI failure modes.
  • Work in laboratory environment to validate test results and correlate measurement with simulations using VNA, TDR and Oscilloscope. 
  • Design Test Tooling assemblies for Electrical Test of new products (FTB).

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is required 
  • 3+ years of experience designing test hardware and software test systems.  Test systems include PCB design, hardware integration, system documentation, performance testing and characterization, as well as mechanical fixture design.
  • Experience with High Bandwidth scope measurements VNA, PNA, TDR.
  • Ability to analyze High Speed test data using statistical modeling tools and perform root cause analysis of rejected parts.
  • Good knowledge of Python scripting and LAN-based coding skills to interface test equipment.
  • Knowledge of Tygra, Matlab and/or Keysight PLTS software is a plus.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with ambiguities.
  • Strong organization and documentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated, working well in a multifunctional team.
  • Must be able handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change quickly. 
  • Strong interpersonal, technical, verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • 3+ years of experience with test station bring up, debug, and characterization.
  • Experience with Signal Integrity simulation software is a plus.
  • Professional English proficiency
  • Ability to integrate, lead and work in high-performance teams.
