Summary/Objective
The role of the Tooling Production Technician will be to troubleshoot, maintain, and follow-up on a wide spectrum of manual and Automation equipment including Tooling and related matters. This position will also require excellent administrative skills as the job duties will also include gathering information, getting prints together, breaking down BOMs and placing Purchase Orders (POs) for tooling
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities.
1. Daily responsibility includes sustaining the intended function of all production tooling and machines by
taking recovery actions to debug, repair and implement corrective remedies. And perform timely periodical maintenance.
2. To perform setup and conversion on production equipment and tooling to meet product specification
stated in the drawing (print) and according to the guideline document.
3. To maintain inventory of production tooling & machines including those outside factory premises which
are under Samtec Vietnam account. Example, equipment is sending for external calibration or repair.
4. Ensure all tooling and machines are up to date states for ISO reference or audit.
5. Maintain and replenish inventory of spare parts for tooling and machine.
6. To co-ordinate and update status of tooling & machine repair and improvement upgrade.
7. To perform and report status of PM for tooling and machines according to guideline document.
8. To support Solution Centre in troubleshooting tasks for production tooling or machine failure.
9. To liaise with other Symtec’s facilities on the transfer of tooling & machine. Including product and new
projects that were transferred to Samtec Vietnam.
10. Identify, recommend, and implement improvements activities for tooling and machines.
11. Where & when required, perform simple milling and grinding tasks per approved tooling ECN.
12. Other relevant tooling and machines function as requested by Management.
13. Any other related tasks and duties as assigned by management from time to time.
14. Adheres to all Samtec Quality Principles and actions.

Required Experience
- At least 2-3 years in related/similar position.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics and electronics control mechanisms.
- Able to read and understand pneumatics and electronics schematics diagrams.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to use PLC's and PC controls, including using PLC for troubleshooting.
- PLC understanding and familiarity to make program changes as directed.
Preferred Education:
- Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or related technical or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a production environment, particularly as it relates to automation technology.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Diploma from an accredited Technical University is preferred.
