Samtec is looking for a Manufacturing Production Operator to work on our Optical Engine assembly area. The position is for second shift in our Colorado Springs, CO location. Second shift hours are M-F  2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.  

  1. Pay is $18.25 - $ 18.75 per hour plus 10% shift differential and applicable bonus and is commensurate with experience.

The Manufacturing Production Operator is responsible for inspection of advanced products and operation of semiconductor backend equipment (Wirebonders, including wedge and ball, Automated die attach equipment). 
 
Essential Functions/Responsibilities: 
  1. Read, understand and follow processing instructions for assembly processes.
  2. Possess the dexterity necessary to perform manual and automated assembly processes.
  3. Control and operate computerized microelectronic assembly equipment.
  4. Handling of silicon wafers and other materials with considerable care.
  5. Experience with Semiconductor backend equipment (Wirebonders, including wedge and ball, and Automated die attach equipment) or demonstrate a high degree of aptitude and capability to meet or exceed the learning curve (Typically 60 days).
  6. Operate high precision metrology and inspection microscopes and disposition materials with details regarding accept/reject status.
  7. Must be able to use a microscope for extended periods of time.
  8. Communicate effectively with co-workers (both written and verbal).
  9. Maintain cleanroom etiquette and equipment cleanliness.
  10. Work in a dynamic environment with a sense of urgency without sacrificing safety or quality

Required Experience:
 

  1. Must have one year of previous production/manufacturing or inspection experience. 
  2.  Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and word.
  3. Must be willing to adhere to department safety rules and regulations. May be exposed to noise (required to wear protective gear). May be exposed to Hazardous Materials & Chemicals (required to wear safety glasses and other protective gear).

Physical Requirements: 

  1. Steady hands
  2. Good hand/eye coordination 
  3. Ability to work in a clean work environment.
  4. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.

Preferred Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Training Required:
On the job training as appropriate.
