Job title: LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR
Summary/Objective: Responsible for management, leadership, and development of traffic associates. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the department. Understand and apply company DNA with regards to customer service and associates. Develop and maintain a spirit of teamwork and empowerment among associates.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing daily Traffic requirements.
- Responsible for providing positive leadership to associates in the Traffic department.
- Responsible for achieving metric goals.
- Responsible for initiating corrective action and continuous improvement programs to enhance productivity and quality within the department.
- Responsible for establishing associate goals and completing associate evaluations. This includes regular feedback to associates on their performance.
- Initiate and coordinate training for new associates with the training department.
- Responsible for overseeing work schedules. This includes overtime, unpaid, and paid time off.
- Responsible for managing staffing in multiple areas daily.
- Provide support to all traffic locations Globally maintaining high service levels.
- Responsible for the overall appearance of the area.
- Responsible for any other job-related functions as requested by management.

Required Experience:
- 5+ Years Supervision/Management experience in a Logistics/Shipping Operation in a manufacturing setting.
- Must have effective communication skills as this person will be interacting with all levels of the company.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office products) and be able to learn Samtec’s systems quickly.
- Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
- Must have 20/40 correctable vision.
- Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions: Must be willing to adhere to department safety rules and regulations. May be exposed to noise (required to wear protective gear). May be exposed to Hazardous Materials & Chemicals (required to wear safety glasses and other protective gear).
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Logistics, Customs Administration, or related.
- CSCP – Certified Supply Chain Professional
- CLTD – Certified in Logistics, Transportation & Distribution.
- Black Belt certification is a plus.
Training required
- On the job training as appropriate.
