JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title:  INVENTORY SUPERVISOR

Summary/Objective:  The Inventory Supervisor will be responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating the activities related to stocking & replenishing goods, picking product and preparing for shipment, and ensuring that Samtec’s Inventory System is operational.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible to manage, lead and supervise a team to achieve the organizational objectives.
  2. Be the area owner and accountable for the area / department performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  3. Maintain excellent interdepartmental communications, including with manufacturing, compliance, logistics, supply chain, and global inventory and traffic teams.
  4. Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc.
  5. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  6. Issue written and oral instructions.
  7. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  8. Study and standardize procedures to improve storage, workflow, and efficiency of associates.
  9. Maintain harmony among associates and resolve grievances.
  10. Interview and hire new employees.
  11. Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.

The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities. 

 

Required Experience:

  1. 7+ Years’ Experience in inventory or logistic is preferred
  2.            Must be able to do multiple things simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
  3.           Communication and Organizational skills are required.
  4.           Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  5.           Must be able to learn new systems quickly as this position will be using home-grown systems to perform daily tasks and duties.
  6.           Must be customer service oriented and have attention to detail.

 

Preferred Education:

  1.                 Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business or a related field.
  2.                 On-the-job experience can replace or supplement educational requirements.
