HDR Sustaining Engineer Project Manager

Job title: SUSTAINING ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
Summary/Objective: Responsible for project management of HDR and Cable Transfer Projects and HDR Sustaining Engineering Projects. Support Engineering activities as it relates to First Time Builds. Act as PTS Admin for Sustaining Engineering team. Support any engineering activities needed as it relates to reporting, template updates, and documentation.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
- Project management of HDR Transfer projects between all HDR work centers.
- Project management of Cable Transfer projects between all Cable Manufacturing sites.
- Project management for cross-functional sustaining engineering projects.
- Track global HDR projects highlighting timing discrepancies and resource capacity issues.
- Responsible for creating / aiding of reporting to track various elements of projects – cost, timing, resources, etc.
- Responsible for collecting First Time Build data and the creation of presentations to efficiently share that data with stakeholders.
- Responsible for Admin responsibilities as it relates to PTS to support global HDR teams with their reporting, projects, tasks and overall use of PTS/Clarizen
- Manage and support documents, SOP’s and Process Flows within Samtec’s Corporate Documents
- Lead and facilitate conversations between groups when there is new information, including scope changes, risks and competing priorities.
- Must work and interact effectively with others throughout various levels of global organization
- Establish meeting agendas, facilitate team discussions, and drive actions.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Preferred Experience:
- 5+ Years’ Experience in Project Management including the usage of a project management system
- Experience in report creation to highlight trends and areas of improvements
- Have a working knowledge of assembly processes and can evaluate the effect of the process on the relevant project.
- Problem solving and Organizational skills are a must
- Proficient communicator both written and verbally
- Working knowledge of board processing, HDR assembly, and Cable manufacturing processes
- Must have good personal computer skills – knowledge in Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint Required. AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management (Related Field)
Training required
- On the job training as appropriate.

Testing: Wonderlic Mechanical
The selection process will be based on overall department needs.
Interested associates must be in good standing, and not have active discipline warnings on file. Associates must be employed with Samtec a minimum of 180 days, unless otherwise determined to be a viable candidate.
