Industrial Machine Systems Jr. Tech Apprentice
Description
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
1. Setup up and maintain automated and manual machines.
2. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on machines.
3. Log maintenance and repairs in a maintenance system.
4. Replace, repair and make new components for production equipment.
5. Work directly with experienced journeyman toolmakers, technicians and electrical engineers.
6. Trade related course work required to total 288+ hours.
Required Experience:
1. At least one year of working as a technician in a manufacturing environment is desired.
2. Must enjoy working with your hands.
3. Experience with saws, lathes, mills, and surface grinders is a plus
4. Experience with bench fittings and assembly of machinery or engines is a plus
5. Experience with PLCs and electrical troubleshooting is a plus
6. Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills.
7. Must be willing to work in a high-decibel noise environment.
8. Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
9. A track record of adhering to all applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations.
10. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Education:
1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
2. Vocational or trade school diploma is a plus.
3. Credit for past apprenticeship training & hours earned may be honored.
