Job title: Hub Lead Operator  +$2.00/hr Lead differential
 
Day Shift Opening: Shielding, Thurs-Sat 5am-5pm 
Summary/Objective:
The Lead Operator in addition to standard operator responsibilities also has responsibility by providing guidance and direction to the production operators on production work and while under the direction of the Production Supervisors.  Their involvement is limited to production matters and Shift Leads do not get involved in personnel issues.  They promote and maintain a teamwork environment. They understand the product flow and process steps and are able to respond to questions. They maintain safe, clean and organized work areas while expecting the same of other operators.
 
Essential Functions/Responsibilities: 
Lead Operator roles and responsibilities in addition to their work as operator include:
  • Handling shift pass-downs as directed by the production supervisors
  • Point of contact for daily issues on the production floor
  • Hourly line checks for quality assurance, process consistency and safety
  • Daily process sheet audits across all machines
  • Support creation of training documentation as needed by Engineering & Quality
  • Training of all new associates on shifts
  • Monitor existing orders for incorrect Prints/Routings/BOM/Process sheet and report errors to supervisor
  • Maintaining Point-Of-Use Areas (Extrusion, Shielding, Braiders, Ribbonization)
  • Providing ideas for continuous process improvement based on operator inputs
  • Working closely with production supervisors on priorities, changes and improvements
  • Communicates respectfully and clearly to the associates and production supervisors on priorities and their status.

Preferred Education  
High school diploma or GED
 
Training required
  • On the job training as appropriate.
