Summary/Objective
The PRF Sustaining Engineer will be a hands-on engineer with project management expertise and will be responsible for the product bring-up, debugging, perform root cause analyses and characterization of Samtec’s PRF cable/connector products through manufacturing. Need to know mechanical drawing, soldering process, RF cables prepping, and mechanical engineering knowledge. 
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities. 
  1. Review and rationalize new product scopes  
  2. Conceptualize and design RF interconnect products using 3D CAD. 
  3. Advise in fabrication, testing and troubleshooting of component parts. 
  4. Define characterization and test plans 
  5. Actively participate and support peer design reviews and other team efforts. 
  6. Review and approve detail drawings. 
  7. Oversee all design enhancements to the manufacturing process on an as needed basis.
  8. Review test results and address deviations as required. 
  9. Support the Lead RF Engineering in the design and testing of new products to ensure manufacturability.
  10. Handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.

Required Experience
  1. 2+ years of experience in PRF cable/connector Product design is preferred 
  2. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging interconnect products.
  3. Proficient in the interpretation of s-parameter and Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) measurements.
  4. Experience in RF simulation software (CST, HFSS, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
  5. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in blueprint reading, GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  6. Ability to use SolidWorks and MS Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint Document Management and general computer literacy.
  7. Solid interpersonal communication skills, a professional demeanor, cooperative personality and a team attitude are all required.  Works well with others and interacts effectively and efficiently with internal and external people and groups. 
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Extensive cross functional team expertise including technical and non-technical work.
Preferred Education  
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
