PRF SUSTAINING ENGINEER

Summary/Objective 
The PRF Sustaining Engineer will be a hands-on engineer with project management expertise and will be responsible for the product bring-up, debugging, perform root cause analyses and characterization of Samtec’s PRF cable/connector products through manufacturing. Need to know mechanical drawing, soldering process, RF cables prepping, and mechanical engineering knowledge. 
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities. 
- Review and rationalize new product scopes
 - Conceptualize and design RF interconnect products using 3D CAD.
 - Advise in fabrication, testing and troubleshooting of component parts.
 - Define characterization and test plans
 - Actively participate and support peer design reviews and other team efforts.
 - Review and approve detail drawings.
 - Oversee all design enhancements to the manufacturing process on an as needed basis.
 - Review test results and address deviations as required.
 - Support the Lead RF Engineering in the design and testing of new products to ensure manufacturability.
 - Handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.

Required Experience 
- 2+ years of experience in PRF cable/connector Product design is preferred
 - Hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging interconnect products.
 - Proficient in the interpretation of s-parameter and Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) measurements.
 - Experience in RF simulation software (CST, HFSS, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
 - Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in blueprint reading, GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
 - Ability to use SolidWorks and MS Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint Document Management and general computer literacy.

 - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 - Extensive cross functional team expertise including technical and non-technical work.
 
Preferred Education  
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
