 Test Engineer

Shift:                      Monday to Friday    6:00 am – 3:00 pm

Job Summary:      

The Test Engineer is responsible for supporting Samtec HDR (High Data Rate) Cable Assembly Work Center for all Cable Electrical Testing processes.

Functions:

  1. Design Test Tooling assemblies for Electrical Test First Time Build of cable assemblies.
  2. Review the design of printed circuit boards and fixtures for Electrical Test of First Time Build of HDR cable product and feedback findings to designer.
  3. Create Process Documentation for Electrical Test processes. 
  4. Create and qualify Test Programs for Electrical Test. 
  5. Cooperate with SIG ATG to assemble, debug, qualify new Test Systems.
  6. Support production floor for troubleshooting Low and High-Speed Test systems.
  7. Perform failure analysis of Electrical Test failed product and determine root cause with support from Global Samtec teams.
  8. Cooperate with global Samtec teams to maintain Samtec HDR product serialization system.
  9. Part number creation and configuration in Samtec serialization and tracking software.
  10. Cooperate with control engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer for transfer project & sustaining improvement project on Electrical Test side.

 Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Advanced English level (mandatory).
  3. Experience in creating and maintaining serialization scripting with Python and C++ (mandatory).
  4. At least 5 years of expereince working on PCB board design (mandatory).
  5. Experience in engineering design software with SolidWorks, AutoCAD (mandatory).    
  6. Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process. 
  7. Knowledge in electrical test such as LSET, HSET, signal integrity test (mandatory).
  8. Reading and interpreting schematics, datasheets; troubleshoot to component level (mandatory). 
  9. Strong interpersonal, technical, verbal, and written communication skills are a must.
  10. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
