OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Front-end-of-line (FEOL) Integration / Process technical leader to work in a highly multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural R&D center in Albany, NY, who can develop and implement process integration solutions required for advanced logic technology nodes.

Main responsibilities will include leading a technical team to perform Research and Development in the area of FEOL semiconductor process integration and solve complex interactions between lithography, plasma etch, wets. dry clean, deposition and metallization techniques. Additional responsibilities will include (i) Driving cross-functional interactions with peers in order to prepare technical roadmaps related to front-end-of-the-line technology solutions. and (ii) Optimizing the process conditions and flow sequence required to meet the needs for future technologies. Occasional responsibilities will include designing electrically testable macros for test vehicle creation using industry standard layout software and evaluating the layouts using TCAD and emulation software.

The candidate will be a key technical member of the Logic Pathfinding team located in Albany, NY, as part of the Samsung Semiconductor Inc (SSI).  He or she will join a team of experts in researching and developing advanced technology options, and assist in knowledge / technology transfer to the Samsung Logic Technology Development (TD) in Korea. The successful candidate will contribute to research and development of new device structures and integration technologies to meet the need of sub-5nm technology nodes.  The candidate should have a strong understanding of advanced FEOL integration, various unit processes interaction, fundamental device physics, key challenges, and scaling limitations.  The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively work with the internal R&D team and external team to drive hardware prove-out of new technology options.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead a technical team to make innovations for advanced logic FEOL integration and process
  • Research and develop new device structures and integration technologies to meet the need of sub-5nm logic technology nodes.
  • Drive FEOL integration with peers in order to solve complex interactions between lithography, plasma etch, wets. dry clean, deposition and metallization techniques.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience in leading a technical team to work in a highly multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural R&D project
  • Hands-on experience in FEOL process, integration for semiconductor technology in advanced nodes like 10 nm/7 nm/5nm and beyond
  • In-depth knowledge of novel materials and processes for FEOL technology
  • Extensive experience with interpreting failure analysis from multiple techniques and performing rigorous quantitative analysis of electrical data to interpret experimental results
  • Experience in IP generation, benchmarking and competitive analysis, and proof of creative innovator with patents and publications

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Detailed understanding of FinFET and GAA integration, devices, and scaling limitations
  • Experience in technology transfer from R&D and mass production
  • Experience in computer aided numerical analysis and modeling such as TCAD and emulation
  • Hands-on experience in design/review of circuit layout
