Ab initio Device Simulation Engineer Intern

Summer 2020 internship applications are open November 2019 through January 2020.  Samsung Semiconductor summer internships start in May/June 2020.

You’ll work with the teams that create new computing system architectures needed to support emerging machine learning applications, internet of things (IoT) and edge computing that benefit millions of users.  This program will give you the opportunity work on complex solutions to that address some of the world’s most complex technological challenges.



OVERVIEW & IMPACT

Investigate charge capture rates at the defect sites in semiconductor/oxide interface to enhance the fundamental understanding that are critical for flash memory devices engineering.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Density Functional Theory calculations on high-performance computing clusters.
  • Analyze the simulation results using semi-classical models.
  • Present the results at the internal meetings.
  • Summarize the results in a written form for publication.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of Quantum Mechanics.
  • First principles method experience.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • C++ and Python programming
  • Device physics knowledge.
