Job Title: Sr Sales and Technical Manager

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. (DSA) is a world leader in Memory, System LSI, Storage, LED and LCD technologies.

This position is responsible for the sale and technical support of the organization's LED Products in a specified region or major geographical area. This position sells the Company's LED products including packaged LEDs, modules, power supplies, engines and services. This is done by using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services with an emphasis on American channel/distribution accounts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assigned region for Indirect and Direct Sales as well as technical support.
  • Travel in a specified region meeting with customers, distributors, and sales reps (sometimes all together) to promote the Samsung LED product offering and provide support such as application, product training, and services to achieve Sales Plan and quarterly Management Business Objectives.
  • Respond to customer, distributor, and sales reps product inquires (emails and phone calls) relating to specification, pricing, delivery and purchase orders. Participate in conference calls and Webex trainings.
  • Manage executive relationships and metrics with key customers, distributors, and 3PLs, including inventory levels, turns, contracts, quarterly corporate business reviews, periodic local/regional business reviews at select branches, and drive increased sales within designated accounts within the specified region or major geographical area.
  • Clearly establish Sales Plan Goals with our Sales Channel. Implement and maintain Quarterly Business Reviews with all Distributors and Sales Reps. Create Weekly Activity and Monthly Opportunity, Demand Forecast, Promotion Calendar. Participate in Samsung internal conference calls with LED Team (US and HQ Korea). Generate customer call reports. Obtain customer TAM information. Obtain Market sector knowledge. Obtain competitive data.
  • Set sales goal targets for each assigned customer by product and create a sales plan to meet these targets. Provide weekly updates on the progress of the sales targets versus the actual results. Implement improvement plans when there are shortages in results to bring the sales number to acceptable levels
  • Create a strong business relationship with assigned customers to allow for effective collaboration on new product design and development. Developing a plan to have weekly meetings with the key people to allow for good communication and hear the Voice of Customer(VOC) to be sure Samsung is meeting the needs of the customers
  • Manage Distributors and Manufacturers Reps

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • B.S Degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics or Technical equivalent
  • 10yrs Technical Sales and Management
  • Ability to technically support customers and selling partners
  • Ability to create Business Plans
  • Ability to manage selling partners
  • Ability manage pricing and calculate Distribution Margins
  • Possess PC and Laptop skills
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Familiar with email system.

PREFERED SKILLS:
  • Prior Solid State Lighting and Semiconductor sales and technical support experience
