Job Title: Customer Engineering Manager, Memory Business Unit

Overview & Impact

Samsung Device Solutions America is seeking a motivated self-starter to manage all technical aspects of Samsung DRAM-based memory solutions being used at a breadth of customers covering a broad product portfolio and applications.  You will be focused on the strategic alignment and successful technical engagement to drive the lead supplier position for design-in and qualification.  Customer Engineers also maintain a relationship to address Quality concerns that may arise through the entire product lifecycle.  You will be responsible to reach out to customers proactively to assess their needs and to continually win new business.  You will interact regularly with sales team members and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment with customer objectives and foster deeper engagement and relationships.

Having held a related customer-facing role in the past as a Field Application Engineer (FAE), a Technical Sales, Technical Program Manager, or a Customer Quality role is a plus. You may have held a related supplier-facing role on the customer side.

General Responsibilities:

  • Represent Samsung DRAM based products (DDRx & DIMMs, LPDDRx, GDDRx, HBM, and emerging memory solutions) to key customers.
  • Be the voice of the customer within Samsung; this entails understanding the basis of the customer requirements, delineating between wants and needs, and adding value in the engagement and driving crisp yet complete communication internally on customer matters.
  • Provide first-line technical or operational issue resolution and engage internal resources as needed to drive to closure.
  • Coordinate and manage the quality performance of Samsung Memory solutions once deployed into factory and field environments. 
  • Synchronize with Samsung business teams to assure that the Samsung Technical strategy is fully aligned with our Business strategy
  • Manage critical relationships with key customer decision makers
  • Demonstrating intellectual curiosity to fully understand customer experience associated with key attributes to success
  • Demonstrate leadership through influencing, relationship building, customer focus, efficiency, excellent communication skills, and self-development
  • Ability to communicate at various management levels including executives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required.  BSEE a plus.
  • Clear understanding and first-hand knowledge of the application of DRAM in computer architecture or related embedded subsystems with minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Windows, MS Office, and Customer Management Systems. 
  • Some travel required, both international and domestic.  Approximately 4-12 times per year, subject to customer needs.
  • Must occasionally be able to lift boxes up to 25-50 pounds


Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in the high-performance DRAM interface design and/or implementation such as graphics processors, ASICs, or other performance-oriented applications.
  • Prior experience as a Field Applications Engineer, Technical sales engineer, Technical Program Manager, Customer-facing Quality function, or a complementary supplier-facing role at a customer
  • Strong presentation & PowerPoint skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • Must be self-starter, proactive, dedicated, and a team player.
