SafeHaven is seeking a Retail Operations Coordinator.
The Retail Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the daily operational flow and logistical efficiency of Berry Good Buys. Working under the direction of the Director of Retail Services, the position ensures consistent execution of store processes, effective inventory handling, and operational alignment with agency goals. The Retail Operations Coordinator supports the store’s performance by overseeing merchandise processing, cash handling, daily deposits and floor operations while reinforcing high standards of customer service and store appearance. Additionally, the Retail Operations Coordinator provides supervision to staff sales associates and community volunteers under the leadership of the Director of Retail Services.
- Assist with the coordination of daily retail activities at Berry Good Buys to ensure operational consistency.
- Maintain inventory organization and monitor donation flow from intake to sales floor.
- Manage back-end retail functions such as cash reconciliation, daily deposit preparation, securing daily finances and financial reporting.
- Support the Director of Retail Services in implementing retail strategies and action plans.
- Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to store staff and community volunteers.
- Develop and monitor employee scheduling to ensure consistent store coverage.
- Troubleshoot customer concerns and support resolution processes in collaboration with the team.
- Report and monitor store maintenance and repair needs.
- Serve as a liaison to shelter staff when residents access donated items for personal or relocation purposes.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the SafeHaven team.
- Collaborate effectively with other SafeHaven programs and outside agencies to ensure quality survivor-centered service delivery.
- Participate in training as recommended by supervisor.
- Attend supervision, program, and agency staff meetings assigned.
- Oversee daily activities of retail staff and community volunteers.
- Manage schedule creation of retail staff and community volunteers.
- Collaborate with leadership on training and coaching team members
- Participates in hiring, performance feedback, and team coordination activities in accordance with SafeHaven policies and applicable laws.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three years’ experience in retail merchandising
- Supervisory experience in retail setting
- Understanding basic retail principles and good math skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function as a part of a team and work in collaboration with others
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, and stand, reach and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to provide culturally competent services and work with diverse staff and clientele in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner
- Must be able to pass a background check
