Client Advocate Full Time (Monday - Friday 7a - 330p)
Description
This is not easy work. It is important work.
The Archway is seeking a full-time Client Advocate to join our shelter team and walk alongside survivors as they reclaim safety, stability, and the next chapter of their lives.
This role is not for everyone. The work is real. The stakes are high.
If you are looking for a quiet job where every day is predictable, this is absolutely not it.
If you are looking for work that matters—deeply, urgently, and every single day—you may have just found your place.
The Opportunity
As a Client Advocate, you will be one of the steady hands and calm voices that help keep our shelter running safely and compassionately around the clock.
You will support residents during moments of crisis, transition, triumph, and everything in between. You will help create an environment where healing can begin.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting residents with daily living needs
- Conducting intake assessments and resident orientations
- Maintaining accurate, timely client documentation
- Preparing rooms for new residents
- Conducting regular safety checks throughout the facility
- Providing general shelter coverage with confidence and minimal supervision
Who You Are
You are calm when others are not. You can walk into chaos and immediately become the most grounded person in the room. You are compassionate, but not fragile. Warm, but boundaried. Empathetic, but clear-headed.
You can manage competing priorities, unexpected situations, and emotional conversations—sometimes all before your coffee gets cold.
You are:
- Trustworthy, dependable, and exceptionally accountable
- An excellent communicator with strong instincts
- Flexible enough to pivot at a moment's notice
- Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions
- Deeply committed to serving survivors with dignity and respect
You understand that kindness and strength are not opposites. In this role, they are both required.
What Makes This Different
At The Archway, we do not do surface-level work.
We serve survivors during some of the darkest moments of their lives. We show up with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
We are curious. We are accountable. We communicate openly. We adapt quickly. We hold ourselves—and each other—to a very high standard.
And yes, we laugh. Often. Because the work is heavy, and sometimes a well-timed laugh is exactly what keeps us all going.
This role will challenge you. It will stretch you. It will absolutely demand the very best of you.
But if you are the right person, you will leave each day knowing that your work changed someone's life.
Qualifications
- Six months of experience in a residential facility, shelter, or similar environment required
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or a related field preferred
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered.
