POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for assisting the Recovery Assistant Manager in contacting assigned members who are past due on their advanced delinquent loans to make satisfactory payment arrangements. Works with members to achieve credit worthy status. Ensure SAFE is in compliance with collection, repossession, real estate, and bankruptcy regulations. Works directly with collection agencies to ensure loans are properly assigned. Assist the bankruptcy specialist and repossession specialist in their duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Maintain awareness of compliance issues pertaining to collections, real estate, repossessions, and bankruptcies.
- Assign provided list of charged off auto deficiency accounts to appropriate collection agency.
- Review and collect documentation submitted on settlement offers.
- Work with members and realtors to discuss options to avoid foreclosure (i.e., short sale, Deed in Lieu, etc.).
- Assist Bankruptcy Specialist as needed.
- Assist Repossession Specialist as needed.
- Assist with decedent accounts as needed
- Cancel back-end products and track refunds
- File GAP and Lien holder claims
- File Lenders Protection Claims
- Assist with reversing interest and fees and credit card accounts before charge off
- Review NOIT and Addendum 2
- Review Debt Management proposals
- Assist with Manager transfer approvals
- Repossession Quality Control- Monthly
- Complete Credit Report Audit- Quarterly
- Review accounts for possible legal assignment to attorney. Attend small claims hearings when applicable.
- Review procedures regularly to ensure compliance.
- Review SCRA on vehicles assigned for repossession and vehicles repossessed and pending sale.
- Provide list of accounts to Recovery Assistant Manager for quarterly credit reporting audit.
- Track and review pending lien sale notices. Contact members and assign vehicles when appropriate.
- Review and approve skip a pay and deferments for members.
- Monitor charged off vehicle loans for monthly payments or repossession.
- Meet assigned goals over a 12-month period.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to work well individually and in a team setting
- Understanding of consumer financial services and collecting bad debt

- Ability to work with Accounting with any unusual posting requests
- Ability to use personal computer with emphasis on Spectrum, Microsoft Word, 10key, adding machine, and other related equipment
