Branch Supervisor:
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing internal and external clients with quality service. Actively performs as a leadership team member in developing the branch staff’s capacity for meeting sales and service objectives, standards, and goals. Provides members with appropriate Credit Union products and services. Ensures that staff members provide continuous quality service to all Credit Union members. Supports and assures compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures. Directly supervises branch employees, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Develop and maintain positive member and staff relationships.
- Ensure that staff members are providing consultative member service.
- Conduct member profiling methodology to determine member needs. Confer with members on various products and services to meet their needs. Explain benefits and features.
- Open accounts, accept loan applications, and conduct loan closings.
- Act as a bridge between members and departments to promote and enhance new and existing relationships.
- Resolve errors and member complaints.
- Initiate sales-and-service activities.
- Assist in achievement of branch sales and service goals, both from personal actions and encouragement of staff. Refer members to other areas of the Credit Union for assistance.
- Convert sales strategies provided by leadership into tactical, implemented daily actions; assist in the development and implementation of sales-and-service programs and campaigns.
- Develop and maintain a proactive book of business to create ongoing and new sales opportunities, and to increase member relationships.
- Track and assess results of subordinates.
- Perform operational duties.
- Responsible for the balancing functions of the branch and the Service Representatives.
- Maintain files.
- Complete regulatory reports.
- Conduct staff meetings on operational and regulatory matters.
- Perform branch audit functions, ensuring branch security procedures are carried out.
- Monitor and perform overrides and check approvals for team.
- Manage the branch’s cash and negotiable items, within approved limits.
- Perform duties of a Service Representative, as needed, to ensure excellent member service.
- Participate in training and development.
- Conduct training programs on product knowledge, sales and service techniques, and security procedures.
- Review and monitor training progress for staff members.
- Train and develop subordinates to reach their full potential.
- Maintain and develop personal skills to achieve higher level of responsibility through ongoing internal and external programs.
- On a voluntary basis, participate in community activities.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Review and approve attendance reports and timecards.
- Prepare memos and correspondence.
- Complete and transmit timely sales referral and tracking reports.
- Act in a supervisory capacity.
- Establish schedules and develop work assignments to assure a smooth-running branch.
- Conduct monthly and annual staff performance reviews.
- Coach and counsel subordinates on an ongoing basis, give positive reinforcement, recognize and reward staff when warranted, and identify and take corrective action in the event of sub-standard performance.
- Implement emergency procedures, when necessary, to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and members.
- Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Assistant Branch Manager:

The Assistant Branch Manager, under the leadership of the Branch Manager, is responsible for providing internal and external clients with quality service. Provides members with appropriate Credit Union products and services. Ensures that staff members provide continuous quality service to all Credit Union members. Supports and assures compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures. Directly supervises branch employees. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, coaching and addressing disciplinary issues with employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Initiate sales-and-service activities.
- Participate in setting and communicating branch sales and service goals, and lead in achieving the same.
- Refer members to other areas of the Credit Union for assistance.
- Assist in the development and carrying out of branch sale and service programs, including sale and service strategies.
- Convert strategies into tactical, executable, and obtainable daily actions for branch staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of sales-and-service programs and campaigns.
- Implement and monitor the process of member and non-member contact and follow-up to proactively generate new sales opportunities, increase product awareness, and deepen member relationships.
