AREA MANAGER – LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE

Where You Fit In 

As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for the operational, financial, and team performance of a portfolio of commercial landscape maintenance accounts. This role leads field and support teams to ensure high-quality service delivery, strong client relationships, profitable operations, and safe, efficient work practices. The Area Manager also supports business growth through employee development, customer retention, and identifying opportunities to expand services.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the overall operational and financial performance of a portfolio of landscape maintenance accounts, with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and achievement of targeted gross profit margins
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and lead high-performing teams that support operational excellence, employee engagement, and company growth
  • Analyze financial and operational performance, including P&L statements, job costing, labor efficiency, and forecasting, to drive informed business decisions and improve profitability.
  • Identify, estimate, and pursue new business opportunities within assigned markets or accounts
  • Identify and propose landscape enhancement opportunities to drive additional revenue and improve existing clients’ properties
  • Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and contracts for maintenance services and enhancement work
  • Develop and execute landscape management plans tailored to site conditions, client expectations, and sustainability objectives
  • Manage production schedules and oversee crew performance to ensure alignment with labor budgets and project timelines, optimizing productivity and resource allocation
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while cultivating and maintaining long-term client relationships built on trust and reliability
  • Ensure landscape equipment and assets are properly maintained and operated in accordance with company standards and safety requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to fostering a safety-first culture through leading by example, reinforcing accountability, and promoting safe work practices
  • Minimum of three years of experience in customer service and team or project management within a related industry
  • Bachelor's degree in agribusiness, horticulture, business management, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational management principles, including P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, estimating, proposal preparation, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and motivate teams, foster accountability and collaboration, and build strong customer relationships through excellent service.
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and time management abilities
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past three years (Required)
  • Working knowledge of landscape maintenance operations, horticultural practices, irrigation systems, and landscape equipment operation and maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
