Where You Fit In 

As a Business Developer, you will help drive sales in your territory by sourcing new opportunities, building relationships, and strengthening the company’s brand presence. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, engaging with decision-makers and local networks, cultivating long-term customer relationships, preparing estimates and proposals, and collaborating with branch leadership and operational teams to achieve sales and growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive business growth in an assigned territory by generating leads, securing new business opportunities, and renewing existing contracts
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with property managers, key decision-makers, industry influencers, and other stakeholders to expand market presence
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the local branch market to achieve branch and company growth objectives.
  • Represent the company at networking events, trade associations, and community organizations to strengthen brand awareness and industry relationships.
  • Conduct on-site property assessments, field measurements, and scope evaluations to develop accurate estimates and service recommendations.
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals and bid packages that align with customer expectations and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with branch team members to develop sales strategies, prioritize opportunities, and support successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and manage an active sales pipeline using CRM tools to track leads, customer interactions, proposals, and sales activity.
  • Perform market research to monitor customer needs, competitive activity, and industry trends within the local territory.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, customer documentation, forecasts, and activity reporting in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, business management, agribusiness, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated success in business-to-business (B2B) sales, with a proven ability to engage with and influence mid- to senior-level decision-makers
  • Previous experience in commercial landscape maintenance, property management, or related service-based industries, with a strong understanding of the commercial service sector and local landscape market.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and sound analytical skills to assess client needs and develop tailored service solutions
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past three years (required)
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively with stakeholders, property managers, and a diverse clientele base to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
