Description

The position of Sheet Metal Fabricator is critical to safe and quality fabrication of sheet metal products utilized on the jobsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans along with other data, such as work plans, to design sheet metal products
• Fabrication involves laying out, cutting, fitting, measuring, and braking metals to create the desired shape or object per R.T. Moore quality standards.
• Accurately check measurements and dimensions of each piece that is being worked on.
• Make templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality
• Produce quality sheet metal products per requested dimension and shape
• Constantly inspect equipment.
• Safely operate manual machine tools including Drill, Norlok, Pittsburgh, Brake and Sheer.
• Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or a GED equivalent
• Two years of experience in sheet metal fabrication preferred
• Ability to comprehend blueprints and work specifications preferred
• Proficient in operating heavy machinery
• Proactive drive for accomplishing tasks successfully in a fast-paced environment
• Clear, effective communications skills – both written and verbal
• Ability to collaborate with team members to achieve shared departmental goals.
• Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
• Basic hand tool/machine experience.
• Preference for accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
